PoliticianPoliticians act as sectorial heads of state in the Old Republic, New Republic, and Galactic Alliance senates. Some senators alternately represented very powerful megacorporations and industries, such as the Trade Federation or the Corporate Alliance. During the waning days of the Old Republic, many senators were corrupt and decadent.

Anzati- The Anzati are a
dangerous and mysterious Force-sensitive near-Human species with two
tentacle-like proboscises that curled out and extended from their
cheeks, with which the Anzati were able to feed upon the brains of
their prey. With the tentacles retracted into seams along each side of
their nose, Anzati were indistinguishable from any other humanoid
species in the galaxy.
Aqualish-
The Aqualish are tusked bipeds from the planet Ando whose appearance
combined aspects of arachnids and aquatic mammals. Aqualish have a
reputation for being nasty, crude and aggressive, and generally pursued
off-world careers as mercenaries, bounty hunters, and Smugglers. One of
the most infamous such Aqualish was the smuggler Ponda Baba.
Arcona-
Arcona, sometimes singular Arconan, were scaleless reptiles with
humanoid bodies. Hailing from the desert planet of Cona in the Teke Ro
system, they had poor eyesight, despite their large eyes, and had a
small organ between their eyes which, often mistaken for their nose,
helped them to see. An Arcona's lifespan was roughly the same as a
Human's. The Arcona lived in a family based community, where the males
took care of the young, as the females were generally reckless and
thrill-seeking. Despite not being a particularly technological species,
by the time the Galactic Empire rose to power Arcona could be seen in
every corner of the galaxy. They were also notorious for their easy
addiction to common salt.
Arkanian-
These aliens are a near-human people with extreme intelligence. They
enslaved the Yaka from nearby planets, turning them into cyborgs. Their
home planet, Arkania, is not truly their homeworld at all, but was
originally a repository for Sith knowledge. One famous Arkanian was the
ancient Jedi Master Arca Jeth. Arkanians have three fingers and a thumb
on each hand, and can see well into the infrared range of the
electromagnetic spectrum.
Barabel-
The Barabels are a cold-blooded reptilian species from Barab I. Many of
their actions were fueled by their hunting instincts, but this also led
to the general feeling that Barabels were always angry, or in the very
least ornery. They expressed emotion—such as amusement or grief—by
"sissing." The Barabels had very tough, dark colored scales. A blaster
set on stun would not damage them at all or slow them down, as it would
merely bounce off their scales. Barabels were able to shed their tails
if necessary, an ability that proved the undoing of many a startled
foe. (What are invaders on Barab I called. Prey!)
Besalisk-
Besalisks are a race of four-armed humanoids from the icy planet of
Ojom, though female Besalisks can have up to eight arms. Besalisks
evolved from large flightless avians, though they are often mistaken
for a reptilian species
Bith-
Bith are one of the galaxy's most ancient civilizations, with a history
going back millions of years. This antiquity garnered respect in
certain quarters, such as among the Gree, who gave them more respect
than other, "younger" species.
Blood
Carver- Blood Carvers are thin humanoids, golden in skin colour, with
three jointed arms and legs. Their nose is two separate flaps that
contain both the sense of smell and of hearing.
Bothan-
Bothans (pronounced /'bɑθɪn/) are furry mammalian anthropoids, about
1.5 meters tall. Hailing from Bothawui and several colonies, Bothans
differ in facial appearance and body structure with canine, feline, and
equine features. They were known for being master politicians and
spies, craving intrigue and subterfuge.
Cerean-
Cereans are a species with long cone-like heads that hail from the
planet Cerea. One example is Jedi Master Ki-Adi-Mundi.
Chagrian-
Chagrians are a species of amphibious humanoids native to the water
planet of Champala. The average Chagrian stood taller than a Human with
blue skin ranging in tone from light blue to indigo. They were
distinguished by two fleshy growths protruding from the sides of their
heads, which they called lethorns.
Clawdite-
Clawdites were a humanoid species native to the planet of Zolan. They
were one of the few shape-shifting species in the galaxy, and were
sometimes referred to as Changelings.
Dashade-
The Dashade are tall, reptilian humanoids notable for their resistance
to the powers of the Force. Though they were rendered nearly extinct
during the Great Sith War, remnant populations were seen regularly for
millennia, using their natural abilities to their advantage as elite
assassins, mercenaries, or similar professions.
Devaronian-
Devaronians are a horned humanoid species from the world of Devaron in
the Expansion Region, a planet of low mountains and deep valleys linked
by thousands of rivers. It is believed that they were descended from a
race of primates that lived in the mountains of Devaron, and that their
horns were a genetic mutation that proved useful in fending off
predatory birds.
Draethos-
Draethos possessed large teeth, which grew outside of their mouths in
what appeared to be an overbite. They also had no lips, further
exaggerating the appearance of an overbite. Their scaly skin ranged in
color from blue to purple to black. Their hands retained an
interstitial web between the fingers. Their fingers ended in narrow
tips which resembled claws. They possessed low-light vision, springing
from their cave-dwelling ancestors.
Dressellian-
Dressellians are a tall, thin, humanoid species with elongated,
hairless skulls, wrinkled skin, and teal-colored blood who valued
freedom above anything else. For most of their history, they lived a
peaceful and isolated lifestyle on their homeworld, Dressel, until the
Galactic Civil War forced them into closer contact with the rest of the
galaxy as supporters of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, and
later, the New Republic
Dug-
Dugs are an aggressive mammalian species native to the planet Malastare
that used their upper limbs as legs and their lower limbs as arms.
Duros-
The Duros, sometimes known as Durosians, are a humanoid species native
to the planet Duro who were among the galaxy's first space faring
races.
Em'liy-
The Em'liy are a species of humanoids native to the planet Shalyvane.
Originally a proud society of warriors, their civilization was
devastated by the Galactic Empire's forces. This forced them to become
a nomadic society, both on their homeworld and in other star systems.
